All healthy mammal bodies have 10 times more living, feeding microbes than they do of their own body cells.....

Why does my dog eat grass or dirt? Most dogs forage naturally. When they appear to be eating grass dirt or rocks they are missing something nutritionally or they are missing bacteria or enzymes. They "seek out" these elements by grazing. Digestive Enhancer and Ultimate will help provide these elements.
Why does my dog eat his stool or other dogs' stool? Dogs will eat stool to ingest digestive enzymes and bacteria. Wolf pups in the wild will often eat the mother's stool to avoid starvation. It is natural for dogs of all ages and breeds to feed on stool first in an attempt to satisfy these urges. Also, it is important to consider that a dog's environment and diet, though more steady, is more limited than a wild animals diet. Domestic dogs have few options other than stool to supplement digestive bacteria and enzymes. Often, feeding DOGZYMES Digestive Enhancer can get a dog to stop eating stool by building up significant gut flora levels so the dog no longer craves bacteria. However, in rare cases stool consumption can become habitual and dogs may continue to eat it regardless of probiotic supplementation.
My dog is on antibiotics. Do I need to stop feeding Digestive Enhancer or Liquid Dispersible Digestive Enhancer? On the contrary, you should always feed Nature's Farmacy DOGZYMES Digestive Enhancer, Liquid Dispersible Digestive Enhancer or Canine Paste to any dog taking antibiotics. Antibiotics do not discriminate between harmful and beneficial bacteria and will often kill off all or most of your dog's gut flora as it treats the ailment it was prescribed for. Supplementing beneficial bacteria during antibiotic treatment can often help to alleviate many digestive side effects.
My dog is itchy. He licks and nibbles at his feet and shakes his head. What is he allergic to? Usually these symptoms are caused by a systemic yeast infection. Dog's don't sweat like we do. They excrete toxins through their feet, groin, tail-head, and other areas where lymph nodes are located. During periods of PH imbalance and yeast invasion more toxins are excreted from these areas causing the itchiness. The dog will then lick or itch these "hot spots".
